Congratulations to Kenny Taylor pictured above who was elected Homecoming King on Saturday. Since Jeremiah is in the Band I get to announce the Bands pregame and halftime shows. Friday was Homecoming so the scripts were quite a bit longer for both. During the pregame I had to announce the candidates for Homecoming King. Each candidate is apparently asked to submit a little write up about himself, his interests, his future plans etc. Here’s what Kenny’s said:
Our second king nomination is Kenny Taylor, who is being
escorted by his mother, Leticia Taylor. Other family members include
his dad, Kenneth, and his brothers, Tommy and Rene. Kenny plays Varsity
football and competes in varsity track and field. On Sundays, he helps
with the set-up and children’s ministry at his church, Imperial Valley
Christian Center. His hobbies include lifting weights, training at
Jock’s and Jill’s, relaxing to some slow jams, being with his
girlfriend, Cristina Murrillo, and playing Madden against his brother.
Kenny’s future plans include playing college football and getting
drafted into the NFL or pursuing a career in computer engineering. He
would like to thank God, who made this all possible, his family, Pastor Greg, for supporting and believing in him,
his girlfriend Cristina , for always being there for him, the football
team for being like brothers to him, and Central for making him proud
to be a Spartan.
Okay, you know the coolest part is the part about that Pastor Greg fellow, he must be quite a guy. Was that cool or what?
