Coming out of Costco the other day one of the employees, who knows that we pastor, told Becky and I "Merry Christmas" and then stopped us to explain that the employees there had been instructed to not say "Merry Christmas," but he was going to do it anyway. When I was a kid, in the midst of the cold war, we’d here stories about how in Russia they had replaced Christmas with "Winter Festival", and replaced Father Christmas with Father Frost, who’d have thought that would ever happen here.

I’d like to share with everyone a yahoo discussion group that focuses exclusively on the war on Christmas. It has a good number of articles, photos, and links to the groups (like the AFA) that have taken the lead in fighting the secularization of Christmas and are taking some national retailers to task for it.
